History
Cash Converters was first developed in 1984 in Perth, West
Australia by Mr Brian Cummins. Mr Cummins based his idea on an
alternative retail outlet - quality second hand products purchased
professionally from customers, and displayed in a modern and
professional retail outlet.
The Franchise network grew throughout Australia and then
overseas. Currently, Cash Converters is in 21 countries
internationally, including Australia, the US, France, Germany,
Italy, United Kingdom, Japan, Belgium, Canada and Austria - there
are over 578 outlets worldwide. As part of an international
Franchise group we adhere to similar standards and branding.
In the New Zealand region we have 13 stores, and including our
satellite buying outlets. As a group, we employ over 150 people New
Zealand-wide.
